Hi All,
I used to perform detach/attach, homogenous system copy. I take CI export and use during system copy-->central system --> based on ABAP+JAVA-->DB+CI installation. Now we have a distributed system. For distributed to distributed system, system copy-->source system -->distributed system-->Based on ABAP+JAVA, I see 4 options. Export preparation, Table splitting preparation, DB instance export, CI export. For target system I see 3 options... SCS instance, DB instance, Central Instance in system copy-->target-->distributed-->based on abap+java.
Please advise what high level steps required for distributed to distributed system? Just CI export from source CI server AND in target SCS, DB and CI instance installation required in target central Instance server? Pls advise. or do I have to take DB export as well in source?
Thanks,
Kavitha Rajan.
Hi Kavitha
In the same you can start target system three steps, Step 1 & 3 you can install one and DB on another systems.
1. SCS & SAP Global host configuration (each steps you have to provide the profiles folder) Host 1
2. DB Import where you are installed the Database -Host 2
3. CI Import on host -1
In this you can use either detach/attach or Backup/restore method.
