2 Instances of Work Manager on SMP for PM & CS Orders?

Former Member

Morning,

We would like to process both PM & CS orders via the same instance of the SAP Work Manager pointing to one ECC backend, but according to OSS Note 2093621, that is not possible.

From the discussion below I gather that it is possible to have two instances of Work Manager running on one SMP server, and pointing to the same ECC backend:

Does anyone have an opinion if it would be possible to have two WM Instances running on one SMP server and pointing to one ECC backend, and then use one instance for Plant Maintenance orders and the other for Customer Service orders?

Any help appreciated.

Lukas

Hi Lukas,

The answer is yes. It is possible to have two applications for Work Manager, one for the Customer Service module and another one for the PM module.

In the SMP administration console, create two agentry applications, one pointing to the Customer Service app, and another pointing to the PM module.

Remember to activate the appropiate BC Sets.

At transaction SCPR20, activate the following BC Sets:
/SMERP/SAP_WORK_MANAGER_61_REF, /SMERP/SAP_WORKMGR_61_EHP5_REF --> Work Manager 6.1

/SMERP/SAP_CUST_SERVICE_20_REF --> When activating the Customer Service component

After activating the BC Sets, you should see the following Apps configurations in t-code: /n/syclo/configpanel

Also, in the SMP 3.0 SP04 you have to set the parameter urlPath in the App specific settings. If you got 2 Apps, the first will always be defaulted to *SAPWM. I recommend to set a name that differs the purpose, like WMPM and WMCS.

Hi Lukas,

      The latest release for SAP Work Manager 6.2 with Customer Service component supports both PM & CS Orders as well as Notifications. This is the new feature introduced as part of WM 6.2 release, also Customer Service component supports all features from Work Manager in addition to CS specific features. The OSS Note 2093621 reflecting the wrong content from the previous release, we will update the note soon. It is not recommend to run multiple instances for both Work Manager
& Customer Service applications in parallel as you may get into some performance issues with xChange process.
