BO Mobile server prerequisites

Dear Experts,

Our client is asking BO mobile services like to check the Dashboards and reports in IMAC,IPAD and mobile devices.

Please suggest the below things.

1)After installing BI BO 4.1 server what are the prerequisites at server level.

2)What are the prerequisites at client system level.

3)What are the prerequisites to use the dashboards in the Ipad to view the BO dashboards and reports at user level.

Hi Venkat,

BI 4.1 is a mobile ready environment ( if full installation is done ).

There is a MobileBIService.war file which should be pre deployed under tomcat/webapps folder on the server.

This war file is required for all communication between the device and the server.

1)  For the server end, you need to create two categories Mobile and MobileDesigned. Add any webi reports to the same.

2) For the device, download the apps from the respective marketplace ( istore for apple, playstore for android )

3) Dashboards can be viewed only on tablets, not on phones. Can be viewed on ipad, android tablets.

Cannot be viewed on iphone, android phones

In the first point

1)  For the server end, you need to create two categories Mobile and MobileDesigned. Add any webi reports to the same.

Can you please explain what is the requirement of separate  Mobile and MobileDesigned.

Can you explain is the adding Mobile and MobileDesigned is specific to dashboards,Web I and Crystal Reports are diffenent.

Hi Venkat,

Categories Mobile and MobileDesigned are required for the webi reports to be visible on to your mobile device.

Secion 4.3 should give you more details.

Similar categories can be created for Dashboards as well. However they are supported in the latest version of BI 4.1 only ( i guess SP4 onwards )

Mobile Category is to list the report on to the mobile device

MobileDesigned category is for the report to follow the design suit like that in launchpad.
