I want to get item category as "TAS" for particular material.

how i can get like that?

Hi Ganesh,

1. Please check your material master and make sure that it has item category group as "BANS". Also, purchasing view should be maintained.

2. Make sure you are using OR document type.

3. Make sure that in item category determination, you have OR+ BANS = TAS. ( please note this can be set as manual item category as well. But inthis case, you need to manually input TAS ).

Please ensure above aspects you should be able to get TAS. Reward if it helps.

hi ,

We have to maintain item category group as BANS for the required material.

as we know item category is determined by..DOC TYPEITEM CATEGORY GROUPUSAGE + HIGHER level itm category(if any).

by maintaining these we can get TAS as item category.

Hi Dear Ganesh,

Please follow these steps.. Go to change mode of that particular Material Master Record.. go to sales org 2 view...there u have General Item Category Group and Item Category Group field.. Enter BANS in Item category group.. Dont change general item category.. let be as it is .. Now u will get TAS as item category in the sales order ok...

Item category is determined by following:

SAles doc type

Item category group(BANS in case of TAS) in the mtrl master

Usage

Higher level Item categ

Do the relevant settings in SPRO>>Sales & Dist>>SAles>>SAles doc>>sales doc item>>assign item categ

If u set a manual item category here...then u can manually overwrite a automatically determined item categ in the sales documnet

hi vishal ,

i have a combination like sales document type -OR ,

item cat grp - BANS,

item cat-TAS,

manual item cat- TAN in SPRO -assign item categ, but still i am receiving as TAN oly in my Sales Order of that particular material (this particular item has Grp item category as BANS in material master ).

also i dont want this to be manually ,it should be be TAS whenever i give that particuilar material.

what ur supposed to do?

Sales doc type + Item cat group + item usage + Heigher level Item cat = default item cat / manual Item Cat.

if u want TAS item cat should come automatically

u have to determine item cat as ,

OR + BANS = TAS (default)/ TAN (manual).

now when u create order OR,for material which has the item cat group BANS , u ll get the item cat TAS automatically.

If its da case,

U need to check ur mateial master record for Item category group, as it should Be BANS.

i think itz taking the combinatin of OR+ NORM= TAN,

if OR+bans= TAS, definately system has to pick the TAN item cat only.

check once again ur MMR,

Item cat is determined by Sales Doc , Item Cat group (from Material master), Usage , High level item Cat. So check in the Item Cat assignment if this combination is maintained for "TAS"
