dear all, i am porting my knowledge from ERP and BW, into Demand Planning.

I converse with the DP team, all around "hierachies". note, i put the term in quotes. i kind of understand the reason why "hierarchies" exist in DP, but i am not clear.

i do not see where they are set up, or are they ?

are they really "hierarchies" or just a concept used to plan against, so you dont blow out the live cache with all the CVC combinations.

how are "hierarchies" changed?

is it all about CVCs ?

what is "shuffler"?

cheers in advanced

Hi Glen,

Please check the links: http://scn.sap.com/thread/3167526

http://scn.sap.com/thread/673538

Note that the DP planning area (PA) and plang.objects.structure (POS) is the base for DP planning book key figures (KF) and characteristics. CVC combination have to be generated to create all possible combinations between KF and characteristics.

Thanks.

Regards, Marius
