Hello,
We have BW system with ABAP and JAVA.stack.
ABAP : -> with 2 application server
JAVA : -> with 2 application server
Java system have 2 application server with each have 4 server
nodes.Total - 8 server node
Out of 8 server node, in Visual admin 4 server node jco connection
gateway points to one ABAP application server and another 4 server
node points to another application server.
to avoid the gateway connection traffic to single ABAP application
server, gateway distributed across app. servers
In Java system, visual admin -> Jco connection -> BI Portal jco
connection (ABAP - JAVA Integration) .
But when ever system re-started. setting maintained in Visual admin ->
Jco connection vanished and all server node point to PAS (not
distributed).
Could you give us the location where we can maintain these settings
permanently and remain same even after the re-start.
Thanks and Regards,
Anand
Hi,
do you restart the abap server or the java side, afterwards you state, that Jco connection diappear and resetted.
Could you provide one screenshot about correct setting of Jco connection, which points to another server.
When you set this Jco connection, is the connectin test OK?
Can the connection correct register on the gateway?

Hi Gabriellla,
When the Java stack restarted , Jco connection settings re-set to point single ABAP application server gateway instead of distributed app. server(before re-start, points to 2 ABAP application server Gateway).
Out of 4 java server node, 2 server nodes to APPSER1(ABAP) and other 2 server node points to APPSER2(ABAP) Gateway.
After re-start, all 4 server node points to APPSER1(ABAP).
Please find the scree-shot , Gateway points to 300 and 301. After re-start gateway connection points only to 300 server
Thanks
Anand
In the Visual Admin tool under the "Special Settings" tab for each JCo RFC there is an option called "Local Bundle". If this is checked then the JCo RFC's are not getting replicated to the other server nodes after the restart of the J2EE stack. Could you set this and modify the JCo RFC's pointing to the AS's and restart the J2EE stack? After that check if it is still over writing the settings.
