SOST XS718

Hi guys,

we are having a small problem here.

We went from SAP BASIS 731 to 740.

In SOST all our Faxes stay gray with msg number XS718

''The SAP system has transferred the message to the connected mail server. The mail server has recognized the data for the recipient FAX=#########@Domain.com as valid and will deliver or forward the message as required. You can expect a further delivery status notification.''

Before every fax was green with msg number XS073

''The message was successfully sent to FAX=##########@Domain.com. However, no information exists about the delivery to FAX=##########@Domain.com.  There are two reasons for this:

  1. 1. No confirmation of receipt was requested in the SAP system for the message.
  2. 2. The connected communication system does not support confirmations of receipt.

And I just want to be clear, the faxes are sent properly, so the issue is not about the transmission, it's about the status staying gray instead of green.

Thank you

Hi Mathieu,

So you are sending faxes via SMTP, are you using the same server to transmit Fax and Email. If so do emails get updated to XS73 in SOST or also stay in status XS718? If the emails get updated to XS73 then what 7.40 SP are you on? Please check if note 2091148 applies in this case.

Also in SCOT -> Settings -> Outbound Messages -> Settings -> Status requests, what have you selected for Request Notification? The option 'If transferred' would request a notification from the server. Thank you.

Best regards,

Ciarán

Hello,

You can check the following setting:
Transaction SCOT -> Settings -> Confirmation of receipt.

Please flag the option "SAPconnect does not expect receipt confirmations for Internet mail".

- Setting: "SAPconnect does not expect receipt confirmations for
Internet mail" - As soon as SAPconnect finds out that the message was
sent successfully, the status changes from "In transit" to "Completed".

- Setting: "SAPconnect expects confirmation for Internet mail" and in
the exception table enter the recipients who do not send confirmations
of receipt. In priniciple, all Internet mails then remain in the status
"In transit" until a confirmation of receipt is received.

Regards,

David
