Hello experts,
I've configured service desk and now I'm willing to customize the login url with some simple name rather than
giving ***/crm_ui_start/default.htm to customers to login.
I know this question might have asked couple of times and I got the below link but still confused after trying the same
http://scn.sap.com/thread/2146336
Hence please help me on this of customizing the url for service desk
I've solman 7.1 SP10

Nikhil
Please check this SAP Note:
2012233 - How to create external aliase in transaction code SICF
for a detailed description.
The difference will be the target element.
In your case: /default_host/sap/bc/bsp/sap/crm_ui_start
If you use an alias let's say: support
After that you'll be able to use:
solman.somedomain.com:port/support

Thank you for the above note. Its really useful.
But currently I've a url displayed as <hostname>:port/alias
and I dont want the end users to view the hostname or especially the port num.
Is there a way where i can have a completely new name like
http://customername.sap.com/servicedesk

Nikhil
From the details you gave I understood you are looking for some alias.
In that case, you could look for some reverse proxy option.
You can use SAP Web Dispatcher or some other option like Apache.
SAP Web Dispatcher - SAP Library
Please have a look around in SCN. There is a lot of discussions about this subject.
