ChaRM on Solution Manager 7.1 SPS8 & Windows 7

Hello SAP Experts.

I have a question regarding ChaRM, SCMA, and Windows 7 on Solution Manager 7.1 SPS8.

When in a ChaRM document that needs to be promoted to the next system (a preprod system, in this case), using the Project Cycle link in "Related Transactions" to run SCMA to run the import job on a Windows 7 desktop, I am prompted to save a file in order to open the web-based SAP screen for transaction SCMA.

I am wondering if this is a Windows 7 security setting or something within the SolMan web UI?

Sorry I can't provide more details.

Thanks,

Scott Watson

You have two options...

1. Install SAP GUI and implement SAP Note 604324.

2. Configure SolMan to use SAP GUI for HTML (Web Browser) instead of SAP GUI for Windows.  This setting is usually found in the Personalize link in the upper right of the HTML transaction.

Thank you for the reply Roy.

In my SAP screen, I checked the "personalize' settings and could not find the setting for using SAP GUI for HTML.

Installing the note would affect several hundred desktop configurations, and that may end up taking several months.  This would not be practical in my situation.

We are going to continue to explore our options on this.

Cheers,

Scott
