Hi All
I am working on synchronization of PSM to BOM ( M-BOM). I have some queries
regarding the same.
Case-1 : While synchronization we define Access Control context for target settings also.( it's not a mandatory entry )
How it is going to help the target BOM ?.
Case-2 : What is the use of Additional source structures tab ?
Is this used for synchronization of multiple source structure in the same target BOM.
Case-3 : How many source structure's can be synchronized to target BOM (M-BOM) with one synchronization unit.
Please anybody can help me out for this.
Thanks & Regards
Satish
Hi Satish,
Case-1 : While synchronization we define Access Control context for target settings also.( it's not a mandatory entry )
How it is going to help the target BOM ?.
Well, it's just Access Control, so who should be able to use and see the BOM. Imagine a customer that has engineering structures which are only visible in engineering context, manufacturing structures in a manufacturing context, e.g. accessible by more people or external partners.
Case-2 : What is the use of Additional source structures tab ?
Is this used for synchronization of multiple source structure in the same target BOM.
You can pull in additonal source structures to mix multiple engineering structures into one target manufacturing structure, yes.
Case-3 : How many source structure's can be synchronized to target BOM (M-BOM) with one synchronization unit.
Not sure if there is a technical limit there. Haven't seen this feature used that frequently to be able to judge.

Hello Ulf
Once again your replies are very prompt. Thank's a lot.
Well going further in Case-1, role and profile creation would be done by SU01/ PFCG and we would be using the same role created in Access Control Context. So here for this role I would define who are the users who can use this role, also admin rights will be defined in Access Control Context. Hope my understanding is correct in this regard.
For Case-3, I will work on it and if I get any valid results I will keep you informed.
Cheer's

Hi Satish,
yes, standard role concept is being used, with some specifics for SAP PLM Web UI that you should consider as described in the Help Portal,as authorizations are more fine granular on object level:
Authorizations and Access Control Context (PLM-WUI-APP-ACC) - SAP Library
