Will deletion and recreation of the Business system have any impact on the objects using the Business System?

Hi All,

We are working on PI 7.4 Single Stack.

We are facing an issue w.r.t to Business System in Quality environment. The Business System in quality environment is of type third party and it needs to be changed to type Java. This Business system is being used in many ICOs and objects.

In order to create the right type of Business System in Quality environment we are planning to delete the existing Business System and recreate it with the same name. However, we are not sure of the impact of this on the existing objects using this Business System.

1)  Will it delete or have any negative impact on the existing objects using this business system?

2)  Is there any other way to change the Business system type without impacting the objects using it?

Hi Rahul,

As the thread pointed out by Satish explains there are a few risks. Mainly, i would do a CPA cache refresh before the change. Also, you can try with the directory API to do a mass change as William Li explains in this document http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c0487ced-f537-2d10-249d-f6c7323c2...
