Hello All,

I have requiremtn of Charts in VC. I am new to usage of charts, but have come across various types of charts supported, for ex: Area, Bar, Column etc.

I am struggling to get the data from the Bapi's in the required format, as it takes only numeric data.

Is there any tutorial of document creating some sample chart views or

On the kind of data that could be put in a chart?

How the BAPI data should be structured?

Kindly provide some insight as its an immediate requirement.

Thanks,

Sharath MG

I was able to desgin Pie, Cloumn and line charts(as per the requirement) with R/3 as backend.

Looking forward to other backends( BI, SQL and Webservices )

hi sarah,

I would like to know how you've been able to model your data so that the values and labels (axis category) appear in a pie chart when the data comes from r/3.

I've been trying to make it work but with no succes. I keep on getting a blank chart if i add any value in the category axis.

I don't have this problem when i use data coming from a BI query.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Best regards.

Hi Paresh,

To my knowledge i haven't awarded points to anyone under this thread. I am not sure to whom you are referring to?

I would like to mention that your NVAL(str), has been of help in designing couple of charts, so would like to thank you for that response.

Hi Sharath,

You are right that graphs take only numeric data.

So u can use NVAL() function which parses a string contaning a numeric value.

If u are still facing any problem do let me know the exact details.
