EBS volume 100% HELP

Former Member

/dev/hda1  mounted on / USE is 100%

Can take a snapshot of this volume, create a larger volume from this snap shot and attach the new volume?

I am not sure where all of this data is from?  But I have gone through some of the files and deleted old logs and such..

Your expertise is required!

Thank you for you diligence!

Hello Zachary,

We have two problems to address here.

1. Backup Data being Full

          - Recommendation is to go into UI and delete previous backups. That should clear up space.

          - Also if any files were copied here outside of UI they need to be cleant up as well.

2. Linux Admin / AWS issue -

         - Basic Linux Administration will need to be done for cleaning up the root volume.

That is what I did originally.. But after you suggested it again.. I went through my files and was able to clear up old logs and and such.. I would still like to know if I can create a larger root volume I only have a couple MB of room before 100% a little more wiggle room would be ideal.. I have begun to automate the processes I have undertaken to make sure these directories do not make it to 100%

Thank you for you help

Hello Zachary,

This is really a core AWS - Linux admin task and really as such an expert should comment.

thanks,
