Message Control help

Hello all, I am trying to use message control to send an IDoc to XI upon creation of an outbound delivery.

I have tried a few things. In my partner profile under <b>outbound parameters</b> (message control tab) I have set the <i>application: V2 (shipping)</i>, <i>message type: LD00 (delivery note</i>), and the <i>process code: DELV (idoc_output_delvry)</i>.

However, when I create the outbound delivery it's not kicking off an IDoc. What am I missing? Have I selected the wrong information for message control? I want to use IDoc delvry05

points garunteed.

hi,

but did you maintain condition records?

transaction NACE or directly VV21

(you need to see the IDOC in output messages

of the delivery doc)

you can also use LAVA output type but depends if you want to output delivery creation

(delivery notification) or delivery posting

anyway create the condition record and it will work:)

I'm looking forward to reading your book, unfortunately I don't have it in front of me now

I have not made the condition records. I looked at NACE and examined the output types. I noticed that the output type for LD00 did not have transmission medium set to ALE so I changed that. I also changed the dispatch time to Send immediately upon saving application. What should the partner function be? SH is default?

I'm having a bit of trouble with the condition records, as I'm fumbling around here a bit..

What do you mean when you say "you need to see IDOC in output messages of the delivery doc)?

Hi,

I always use transmission medium - EDI

and partner function LS (the same you did in WE20 with message control)

I don't remember if you need to add this to this output type or not

hi,

open the delivery:

then:

- Extras

- - Delivery output

- - - Header

there you will see your IDOC (with yellow flag)

when you create the delivery (when you save it will go to green)

that means that your condition record is not ok

or message control settings

BTW

after you create condition records create the delivery once more

When I try to create condition records i am getting several errors... When I try to enter a "customer" no customer shows up in the drop down list.

Hi,

in condition records F4 does not work for partner

(as it can be customer, vendor, logical system etc...)

you need to put it youself (LS number for example is you use logical system)

When maintaining the condition record you have to enter a "partner". I assumed it was referring to the partner (profile) created in we20 so gave the name of the partner profile. After creating the outbound delivery I got an error that said "maintain outgoing EDI-connection data for partner PWSLOG". So what exactly should I be referring to here when I enter a "partner"?
