all workprocess suddenly goes into ENQUE mode?

Hi All,

all workprocess suddenly goes into enqueue mode and system performance is very bad?what is the reason for this?

First , Check whether the IP Conflicting happening? Then check Space in data files and all drives in server. Check St22 and sm12, sm13(update is active or not)

what do you mean exactly with "enqueue mode"? Where do you see it? Could you please share a screenshot?

Hi Prasad,

All work processes show "Enqueue mode" means there is issue while getting required lock from enqueue server of SAP system.

Please go to below paths and check output

SM12-> Extras->Diagnosis

SM12-> Extras->Diagnosis in update

do you know, what is "enqueue mode"? In SM50 I can find only "process status" but no "enqueue mode".  I think, Prasad should explain the issue a little bit first, before we can give any suggestions.

Hi Alwina,

Yes, I agree with you however I just provided steps to check enqueue server status to get system health.

In SM50-Reason column, workprocess can have "ENQ" status that is enqueue mode.

Hi Prasad,

You may need to check the following

1) SM13 -> update is active

2) SAPdata files have enough space

3) Tablespace has enough space

4) Log directory has enough space

     check update table using Tcode SM13 , may one update hung the system

also check SWAP using Rcode ST22
