Hello,

I´m facing one problem... when I try to start the SAP service (SAPSDV_00) it give me the following error:

Windows could not start the SAPSDV_00 service on Local Computer.

Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly.

This is a SAP system (SAP ERP 6.0) in a Windows Server 2008 with MS SQL Server 2008.

Can you help me please?

Thank you,

samid raif

Hello samid raif,

I faced similar problems to this...

Please check the properties of the SAP service SAPSDV_00 if it has a wrong path to the executable sapstartsrv.exe (Can you compare with other system that you have access in your SAP landscape?).

Maybe that is the main problem!

If so, the procedure to change the path is explained in point 10 in note 919046 (Upgrade to the New Instance-Specific Directory Structure):

sc config SAP<SAPSID>_<SYSNR> binPath= "<full_path_to_exe> <pf=full_path_to_profile>"

Make sure that you write the executable and parameter (pf=...) in one single line enclosed by brackets.

You can find more information about how should be configured a SAP service in note 2004710 (How to re-install a SAP Service on Windows platforms).

Kind regards,

Hello João Dimas,

Yes... exactly! The problem was that!

The service path was wrong and so I changed it to the correct path as you recommended and now everything is OK. The SAP service is running without problems!

Thank you and to all the others for the help,

BR,

samid raif

Hi Samid,

Check the log in Windows event viewer.

and also check the service property as below

Drive:\usr\sap\SID\InstanceID\exe\sapstartsrv.exe pf=Drive:\usr\sap\SID\SYS\profile\START_Instance ID_Hostname

If everything correct, un-install and re-install the service using sapstartsrv in command prompt.

Hi Samid

Find the SAPSTARTSRV.exe & SAPSTARTSRV.exe.new on \usr\sap\sid\DXXXXXX\exe - folder

1. rename the file SAPSTARTSRV.EXE to SAPSTARTSRV.old

2. rename the file SAPSTARTSRV.EXE.NEW to SAPSTARTSRV.exe

and then restart the system check the service status

Hi Samid,

Please use sapstartsrv command to de-install this service and install it again.

Hope this helps.

Hi Samid,

Try to upgrade or apply the latest available patch for the kernel and follow SAP Note 82751 - Problems with SAP Services & SAP Service Manager

Hope this will be helpful.
