SAP BOBJ Data Services4.1 Monitoring through Solution Manager

Hi 

Could some please  sensitize me with below confusion regarding  SAP BOBJ Data Services4.1 Jobs monitoring through Solution Manager7.1.

In Solution Manager there are  2 ways that  SAP BOBJ DS4.1 Jobs can me monitored.

1.Job Monitoring

2. BI Monitoring in Technical Motioning

Based on the SAP Note: 1558756  It confirms that we can monitor the Data Services4.1 Jobs as well as DS host thorough Solution Manager.

9.) Availability of Data Services Job Monitoring

As of Solution Manager 7.1 SP7 it is also possible to monitor jobs of Data Services 4.0 or higher. The

available metrics to be monitored are: status, duration, not started on time, out of time windows.

Please refer to note 1817324 to setup Data Services system in Solution Manager correctly, especially you

need to change the Data Services history setting in BOE CMC

****My requirement is to achieve the above functionality****

I am confused with where these jobs can be monitored is it through Job Monitoring  or through  BI Monitoring in Technical Monitoring.

Below are the steps that i have done as of now..

1.Installed Diag Agent on DS4.1  Host

2.Installed Host Agent on DS4.1 Host

3.Installed Wily Agent on DS4.1 Host

4.Update SAP BOBJ DS4.1  to communicate to SLD.

5.Performed Managed System Configuration.

After that Managed System configuration where do i start with.must i start with the Job Monitoring or with  BI Monitoring.

Please set it up via Job Monitoring (only after SP12 of solution manager)

Batch jobs can be monitored via unified job monitoring. pay attention to metrics like start delay, end delay, not started on time & duration for setting thresholds to be alerted.

I have gone through the links that you  posted in the above response.

Could you please clarify the below concern  as well.

I can see that via Job Monitoring functionality in Solution Manager 7,1 we can Monitor  Jobs running on ABAP systems.

Can  we monitor jobs running in Data Services System as well.

I mean can Job Monitoring functionality  in Solution Manager7.1 monitors the Jobs running on SAP BOBJ DATA Services4.1.

Yes, In 7.1 SP12 onwards, ABAP, BW PC, BO jobs, DS jobs can be monitored via Job Monitoring.

Sorry to bother you again

Is there  any SAP Note or any SAP document states that DS4.1 Jobs will be monitored via Job Monitoring functionality only from Solution Manager7.1 SP12 on words.

The reason being asked I am  currently sitting with Solution Manager.1  SP11,  in order to get the system to SP12 I need a kind of document  that I can provide to customer and request them to upgrade to SP12.

in  slide 26.

and in Slide 38 we planned to deliver it in SP11 but eventually did deliver it only with SP12.
