Hi Manish,

If you don’t want ZREPORT, just download both reports separately
in EXCEL.

Then export a project from MSP to excel or CSV file.

On this MSP excel file you will get all the information of MSP
project in excel format.

Paste all the relevant information matching the CJI3 &
KOB1 reports in MSP excel, in addition use information from table PRPS, AUFK
etc. to fill the ES,EF,dates, resourse, duration etc.

Once you have updated all the information in MSP excel,
import it in MSP and your project will be ready.

Else go for a development, which will take considerably good
amount of time.

Now business extracting data form CJI3 and KOB1 and send the files to MSP team for manual execution.

Business wants to make this process automated.

Please suggest..

its not technically feasible to map fields of cji3 & kob1 reports and send it across to msp.. because of the factors involved in capturing data in SAP. what should be the trigger for sending the data to MSP?

Who all are authorised to run CJI3? what's the frequency you are looking at..

what you are doing currently is what you can do..

Not Possible any automated process. Think about two points:

1) Are you able to map SAP data (CJI3, KOB1) to MSP manually? (I don't think, its possible.)

2) How you schedule a back ground job if linking b/w two is not possible

Also MSP is not allowed to do Programming and develop such program.

Go thru below link, may be help you:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/project-help/import-data-into-project-from-another-file-format-HP0...

As sammar said is correct: what you are doing currently is what you can do!

Hi,

Not sure if you are asking this question in the correct forum.

But here is my judgement for the future roadmap in your case:

  1. Run the batch jobs for CJI3 as per the frequency of the Business user's requirement. (How to achieve this? follow this link : )
  2. Store the file in a location which has restricted read and write User access.
  3. Speak to the Consultant who can write MACRO in MS Project.
  4. MACRO should be able to fetch the file from the location where it is stored and delete it as soon as it reads and stores in MSP.

Please enhance the idea as per the business requirement.

Hope it helps!

Hi,

I don't think, you can migrate or transfer your actuals from CJI3 to MSP. Only Project Structure can be transfer to MSP via OpenPS.

For details of objects can be transferred, check below link

https://help.sap.com/saphelp_ops40/helpdata/en/8c/31a4e9d56142519e30192070dcce15/content.htm?framese...

Anyways on the other work around, you can attach your resultant(.txt) file to MSP via attachment option:

To add an attachment in Microsoft Project

  1. Open a Project Plan in Microsoft Project.
  2. Select a cell in the row of the work item to which you want to add an attachment.
  3. On the Team menu, click Links & Attachments.
  4. In the View/Edit Work Item Links and Attachments dialog box, select the Attachments tab.
  5. Click Add.
  6. In the Add Attachment dialog box, under Attachment, type or browse to the name of the file that you want to attach.
  7. If you want to add information about the attachment, type it under Comment. This is not required to complete attaching the item.
  8. Click OK and then click Save.
  9. If you are prompted to confirm saving the attachment to the server, click Yes.

Hope it helps

Hi Manish,

you can only transfer project structure and time lines from SAP PS to MSP using Open PS? Do you  have Open PS installed in your system?

I don't think there is an option of transferring the financial data from SAP PS to MSP.
