Sales Documents number range

Dear Friends,

We are in the process of Implementing Sales force dotcom in place of SAP CRM for presales activities. Once the sales order is confirmed in the Sales force it will be pushed to SAP ECC for further processes like delivery and billing.

We have been using internal number range for the existing sales orders. Since we need to sync up Sales force and SAP ECC, we are incorporating External number range for easy tracking. Means sales order number in sales force and SAP ECC will be same. We are also retaining existing internal number range in ECC if in case of creating Sales orders in ECC standalone.

Please suggest will be there any impact on the business process by following the above method.

with regards,

Dayanand

Hi

You can use both internal and external number ranges as per your business process and requirement. What you have shared shows that it is ok to use this number range. If you won't give external number system would assign it internal number automatically. If business is agreeing on this then you don't need to worry a this is standard practice. There will be no impact on business process until you have done some ABAP customizations based on number ranges.
