Validations/ Derivations on Material Description Field

Hi ,

I am working on MDG 6.1

I am trying to place a validation / Derivation on Material description field but i do not find the field in Material Entity on BRF+.

Can some one shed some light on this ??

The description is in entity: BSCDATTXT.

Please see the attached screen shot , i only see 3 fields , Description is not one among them .

I take my earlier response back. The material description is modeled using the MDG entity text fields. You can validate it either using the single entity or the cross-entity BAdI. See OSS note 1806103 for an example on how to change the description. You can modify the code accordingly to read and validate the description as you see fit. Keep in mind that the cross-entity BAdI does NOT enforce errors as all error messages there are changed to warnings right after the BAdI is called.
