PI 7.11 - for what Business System for AS-JAVA is needed

We have PI 7.11

SLD is on the same System.

I deleted Business System for AS-JAVA in SLD an did following tests:

SLDAPICUST -> Test Connection -> OK

RZ70 -> Start data Collection now -> OK

SLDCHECK -> OK

NWA -> Configuration Management -> Infrastructure -> SLD Data Supplier Configuration -> Collect Data and Send -> OK

NWA -> Configuration Management -> Scenarios -> PI SLD Self Registration Wizard -> OK

RWB -> SLD Registration -> OK

Everything seem's to be fine without Business System for AS-JAVA.

Any idea for what Business System for AS-JAVA is needed?

Hello,

Looks like it will affect java-stack only installations, where the AS-JAVA will be used as the Integration Server.

Hi,

It depends on what system you have assigned as AS-JAVA.

Mostly ABAP systems like ECC or CRM as maintained as AS_ABAP (directly using RZ70 mostly) and other java based systems are created as AS-JAVA or 3rd Party or StandAlone.

Check which AS-JAVA BS you have deleted. Whatever system you have deleted, that only won't work. You may use Business component(service) directly in ID to use java systems.

I deleted Business System of the AS-JAVA of the PI-Server.

But everything on PI-Server seem's to work without error.

The role IntegrationServer has the BS of the AS-ABAP of the PI.

Hi Becker,

Business System of AS Java is required by other SAP AS ABAP Systems to be referred as an Integration Server.

Business Systems of other AS ABAP Systems should refer to an Integration Server in the Landscape.

Went to other SAP AS-ABAP System which is using the PI.

Did SLDCHECK there and result was OK.

BusinessSystem of the other SAP AS-ABAP System refers to BusinessSystem of PIs AS-ABAP as Integration Server.

BusinessSystem of PIs AS-ABAP has role Integration Server and doesn't refer to an Integration Server.
