Hi SRM Gurus,

Need your inputs on implementing SAP SRM UI Add on our existing SRM 7.01 system for direct procurement to support Inventory Purchasing process using SRM classic scenario and how to create Shopping Carts from internal goods and services in SRM UI5.We don't use/have any external or internal catalogs and we will use SRM for internal goods/services, services,limit/Blanket POs and free text, But how to create a SC with internal goods and services, can you assist with reference to the SRM UI5 screens that will be of great help.

We are currently on below landscape

SAP NW 7.02 SP15

SAP SRM 7.1 SP12

SAP PORTAL 7.02 SP15

SAP UI5 1.0 SP 07

Gateway GW_Core 2.0 SP08

Thanks

Ankur

Hi Gurus,

Thanks!

We dont have any catalogs(neither MDM Internal nor Punch-out catalogs) in our landscape .

We just want to use SRM UI Add on for Limit SC, and Internal Goods & Services Shopping Cart. For this when we select a product category in the SRM UI add on   " Search" section and then select any material(product), the field to enter price is always greyed out.We want the same capability as we have standard SRM 7.0 for Internal Goods & Services were user can enter price and Quantity. For our case, we can see the price field as non-editable.Please advise how this can be fixed so that the price field is editable.

Thanks

Any inputs on why the price field in un-editable will be highly appreciated. We want the price field to be editable at line item level so that the user can enter the price for the associated item

Hello Ankur,

you can use the extractor transaction /SRMNXP/CAT01 to extract product master data into TREX. You can then use this to search for the necessary product in the search screen and add it to the cart.

Hi Ranjani,

Thanks!

This is already done. But the search page keeps on loading w/o any results. We dont have any internal or external catalogs and want to use only for creating SC carts using product masters and Limit SC carts.

Hello Ankur,

Can you please check if the basic steps involved in setting up ESH are done properly ? You can validate this by running the report "ESH_TEST_SEARCH".

And also if you can share the errors which you see in the javascript console when the screen loads indefinitely, we can analyze and provide a fix.

Hi Mohamed,

1. When we run report 'ESH_TEST_SEARCH', no results are displayed with error msg '

'No search connectors for selected scope'

Also when i executed report ESH_ADM_SET_TREX_DESTINATION , with RFC destination of TREX as TREX_SRD , it gives below error msg  '

TREX version 7.00.50.00 is too old. Required version 7.10.23.00 or higher

Message no. ESH_ADM_MSG129

On checking with Basis Team, i was told that they are eventually planning to decommission the TREX in the future

2. Please suggest any alternative way to make the product search from product master up and running as our requirement is to only create shopping carts from SAP Product Masters and not from catalogs(we dont have catalogs(internal/external punchout)

3. We just want to know the process of how to create Shopping Carts using product Masters that are replicated from SAP ECC to SAP SRM using SRM UI screens.

4. Also what is the correct way to search in SRM UI

I select a product category but am i also suppose to enter something in the search box next to the product category drop down which says  Enter search term and press the enter key  (search box just next to the Product category drop down under  "Search"

5. Also let me know how to install or login to Java Console you have mentioned in the previous reply.

Thanks

Ankur

Hello Ankur,

TREX or HANA DB is mandatory for SRM UI Add-on if you plan to use the cross catalog search or the "search " screen.  There are other ways to create the shopping cart in SRM UI Add-on without TREX or HANA DB but they would be workarounds

ex 1 - you could create a free description item and then add the product Id in the "item details" screen.

ex 2 - you could add items from existing shopping carts or templates.

But these methods are not recommended, as standard, as they do not bring in the user experience that this UI was designed for.

For question 3 - the replicated products replicated from ECC into SRM can also be uploaded into TREX and used to create carts in SRM UI Add-on. Alternatively, you can also explore creating shopping carts from the Webdynpro UI.

For question 4 - This is configurable. You can decide via customizing if the search results need to be displayed on selecting a particular product category or after entering a search term post selecting the product category. You can find detailed documentation for this in the configuration guide attached to note 1911004 in section 1.5.1.

We have upgraded to the latest TREX now.

Issue is when we run report ESH_TEST_SEARCH with Object Type 'SRMNXP02_CATALOG' no search results are displayed with message   'No search connectors for selected scope

When we execute report ESH_ADM_INDEX_ALL_SC with software component SRMNXP01 with options Deleted all search connectors selected and Create all Search Connectors options selected it gives dump

Object Ref not assigned

Thanks for your help

Hello Ankur,

There are some pre-requisite notes mentioned in the RIN note of SRM UI add-on - 1760438. could you please check if you have implemented all the notes - especially the note 1709271?

Hi

our requirement in SRM UI add on screens is to just enable product category based search from the internal product masters in SAP SRM( no catalogs no internal or no external catalogs are there in our systems) based

While creating connectors using program ESH_ADM_INDEX_ALL_SC we have to select Object as Software Component as  SRMNXP01 or SRM_SERVER or we have to do for Both one by one

Also how to do the indexing once the search connectors are created using this report.

Please also tell which all tables should be updated as a part of these which should be later checked.

Also tell the process how to execute Program ESH_TEST_SEARCH to validate the connectors and what should be provided in the selection screen for the Object and Connector

Please help

Regards

Ankur

Hello Ankur,

Limit shopping cart is supported from SRM UI Add-on SP03 onwards. Please refer to the config PPT for SP03 attached to note 1911004 to enable the "services" tab and limit form. Using the Limit form you will be able to create limit items.

Ranjani.
