Business Role

Hi ,

We have a scenario where one user is assigned to one business role(B1) till 31.12.9999

User needs a new business role(B2), with B1 to be restricted for next one month. It means B1 validity need to be restricted till 31.12.2014

How can we achiever this?

PS: I am aware that retain does not work for business role.

Thanks,

Mamoon

Retain action is available for business roles - see the attached. This should help.

All the best!

Hi Manik,

This Retain action is present as default but for business role it does not work.

SAP Note 1982339 says it does not work.

Thanks,

You are right Mamoon. The error will show during the provisioning or possibly at request submit as well.
Otherwise, you may attempt to remove B1 by Request 1, and then in a subsequent request, you can get B1 approved again for new dates. This might be required to ensure that the technical roles within the business roles are also kept in sync with the same assignment dates, and addition of another instance of Bus. Role B1, might not add additional/duplicate entries for technical roles which you might not want...so try the latter option and see if that serves.

I know this would have been easy thought anyhow, but still...

Hi Mamoon,

If the role is automatically provisioned , the validity of the role always shows the default value 31.12.9999 but the actual validity will be present in the ARM ( Access request Management tool)

If you want to restrict the role which is assigned till 31.12.9999 , you can do this by using t-code SU01

and entering the validity date manually

Thanks and Regards,
