SNP to PPDS Order Conversion

Former Member

Hi,

I have a situation where in the users manually change the SNP Planned orders(keeping the overall amount as constant) in the planning book. Post that when these orders are converted into PP/DS orders some of the orders are lost.

Right now the schedule mode is Infinite Scheduling with Planning Direction as Backwards+Reverse.

PS: If we don't make any changes in SNP planned orders then we don't see the Planned Order numbers dropping.

Can you suggest some solution for this behavior.

Thanks

Hi Blod,

In the planning logs of the SNP2PPDS heuristic, check what messages were raised. In general, you can see 2 messages stating how many orders were selected for conversion and how many PP/DS orders were in fact created:

Number of SNP orders selected for the SNP->PP/DS conversion: 3

Number of PP/DS orders created: 3

Please, check this and also whether any error messages are raised when you run the heuristic.

Tiago

Hi Blod,

Here you have more details:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_ewm70/helpdata/en/c5/c4703736bfb37de10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm

To determine the procurement quantities of the PP/DS orders from the receipt quantity of an SNP or CTM order, PP/DS performs a procurement quantity calculation during the conversion (“lot formation”).

You have various options in this situation. You could perform a 1:1 conversion or an SNP-independent redetermination of the procurement quantities using the lot size settings from the location product master. For more information, see Procurement Quantity Calculation for SNP-PP/DS Conversion.
