mmc cannot open the file C:\windows\sapmmc.msc

Hi all..

I logged into SAP server with Administrator users (My SAP systems are installed on Windows 2008 r2).

Suddenly, i cannot open or access SAP MMC any more. I see this error saying do not have sufficient rights.

I had to manually do stopsap to stop 3 systems. My question is:

why this error appeared all of a sudden, i usually start/stop SAP systems using SAP MMC.

If this problem happens again, how to check the status of all SAP systems? as hostname:5xx13 takes a lot of time and only shows individual system,

while executing stopsap, its takes a long time, is there a better way to perform stop operation?

it seems the system is taking a lot of memory/CPU, in such case remote connection is slow. So, how to perform the stop operation from outside?

thanks and regards

Check whether the SAP services are running under services.msc

If the Central Services are not running then check the logs in the work directory of the SCS.

Have you tried starting the system after restarting the server?

all the SAP services are running fine except for SCS instance.

So, removed the service and tried to install again with sapstartsrv, but since then I am facing issue.

it keeps on throwing the error that "dynamic link library librfc32.dll could not be loaded"

I see that in system32 folder there is librfc32u.dll and in syswow64 there are librfc32.dll and librfc32u.dll both.

I registered them using regsvr32 but still no help.

I see a lot of enqueue processes in the system, should that be any worry?

i uninstalled the SCS instance using SWPM.

Tried to install the SCS again, still the same error ...

just to conclude to discussion, I uninstalled the existing SAP MMC, deleted the sapmmc in windows folder and installed the sap mmc installer again. That fixed the issue. Perhapx the sapmmc had gone corrupt.

Hi Shashank,

Did you tried login using SIDadm user?

Hi kartik,

Yes, same result.

Though after restarting the system, i have created a makeshift console from MMC root and added system manually. So, for time being its ok, but still dont know the problem with default SAP MMC console, also installed the latest MMC snap in from sap website, same result.

In addition to the problem, now, i see that the central instance of solution manager is missing in the new console !!

Hi Shashank,

Is the sapstart.srv has same version in both C:\Windows\System32 and kernel folder.

ok, i think while stopping the system, the SAP MMC has crashed... and now, the SCS instance not starting..

checked the sapstartsrv.log

tried both notes, still the same issue.. :S :S

Something to do with the librfc32.....

did the followings

registered the sapmmc*.dll

removed and tried to recreate service for SCS, but still the librfc32 error..
