Hello experts,
We have recently upgraded our systems from ECC4.7 to ECC 6.0 and I see that in our old system we had a customized language Z2 but it is gone post upgrade. Can you kindly help me with your inputs on why do we use these kind of customized languages (In our case Z2 was just directly mapped to English ) and what is the procedure to maintain this ? Can I enter I18N and just modify the currently existing " ? ? " to a description or should I have to delete the complete part of Z2 itself and recreate it ? Any inputs on this would be very helpful.
Good morning Gopikrishna,
I think we do not know why you use these kind of languages. Please check below two notes which provide input on z-languages:
It is correct that z-languages get lost after the upgrade. This is mentioned in notes #485741 and #964731. These notes also describe how you handle such languages during the upgrade.
The question now is: Do you really need that language? Do you have major adaptions and own translations?
Please check below:
If you need that language then you have to create it again according to note #112065. This is recommended if you have minor adaptions done in the past.
If you need that language and if you have major adaptions done in the past then you have to save your own translations according to note #485741.
If you do not need that language then everything is fine. 🙂
Cheers,
Andreas
