Former Member

One of our client needs remote logon from ECC system to BI system in their land scape.

We were able to Remote logon from ECC6 system to BI system using trusted RFC.

Thanks to SAP Community Network Wiki - ABAP Connectivity - Setting Up a Trusted Relationship between two SA...

We want to know whether it is possible using trusted RFC to Remote log on from ECC system to Bexweb portal.

Thanks in advance

Hello Tony,

Yes it is possible to do it.

You need to follow the same procedure as you connect ECC to E-portal.

Hi Nirmal

Thank you for the answer

But here our client don't have a portal for ECC. They only have one for BI that is Bexweb. And only a few that is  20 percent of users in ECC are currently there in BI and so in Bexweb. Those who have BI Access have same user id as that of ECC.So we want them to login from  ECC to other systems specially for those users who have both ECC and BI access to bexweb portal.

I want to know is there a mechanism so that those users who logon to ECC through sap GUI can automatically logon to all other systems especially to BI portal that is Bex web ?

Hi Tony,

Yes, for that particular reason you need to configure SSO between BI java and ECC.

You can follow the steps in the link which I had provided. In that document you can consider EP as BI java.

Hi Nirmal

We don't have all users of ECC in BI Java. It would be better for the users to  logon to ECC ABAP and from there to Bexweb.

Is it possible any way.

Thanks and Regards

Hi Tony,

That should not be a problem if all ECC users are not present in BI system.

The SSO would anyhow work for users whose ID exists in BI or else it fails so there is no risk in it.

Hi Nirmal

But according to that document users have to log on to Portal  first with user id and password to access other systems .But all Users are not there in the Portal(Bexweb) and (we don't have portal for ECC) .

In such a  case we have to force the client to use two type of log in methods  that is

1  Users with both BI and ECC access to log in through portal

2  Users with only ECC access to log in through Sap GUi

But we hope we could provide all users with same log on method

Thanks and Regards

Tony John
