Is there any way to submit a secatt script to run in background? I'm using ECC 5.00.

No, unfortunately there isn't. The reason is that some eCATT commands - most significantly the SAPGUI command - <i>must</i> run in the foreground because they require resources that are part of the SAP GUI itself. If you tried to run these scripts as part of a background job, your job would crash.

Thanks. That's what I was afraid of.

As it turns out the user who was asking me the question <b>really</b> wanted to run it in the foreground, but wanted the screens to be in the background. That was easier!!

Thanks again.
