PCo Remote Monitoring Issue

Hi Experts,

We configured remote monitoring for one of our applications. We are getting alerts properly, but sometimes we getting unknown alerts, i.e status is unknown.

When would we get these kind of alerts and what is the reason?

Regards

Venkat

Status of Unknown usually means that the ManagementHost service has stopped or cannot communicate with the Agent Instance.  Are your alerts defined for the Agent Instance or for Agent Instances and for the PCo system?

Hi Steve Stubbs,

Yes, We defined alerts for both Agent Instance and for the PCo system.

Hi Venkat,

The only time I have ever seen status 'Unknown' from the alerts is when the ManagementHost service has been stopped; when this happened I got the Unknown alert from both the Agent Instance and PCo system monitors.

Hi Steev,

Thanks,

We set PCo Agent Instance Log Level mode to "Verbose".

Even though we are not abel to see any logs in PCo Log,when we get the Unknown alert.

Hi Venkat,

Do you get just the Unknown alert for the agent instance, or do you get an alert for the agent instance and the system?

Can you check the Windows event logs for the ManagementHost service to see if there are any stop/start or other errors that correspond to the alerts you are getting?

Hi Steve,

How can we prevent these kind of Unknown alerts?

Thanks & Regards
