This can occur for several reasons. First of all, when you installed Oracle did you leave the home as the default one, or did you change it? If you changed it, make sure that when you run SAPinst it detects the Oracle home. If it doesn't automatically detect the oracle home, then you need to change your environment variables to account for this.

Hi Ethan,

ORCLE_HOME="/oracle/ORC/102_64"

export ORCLE_HOME

I set env.variable above but nothing changed.

thanks.

Cemil,

is this an install with a single Oracle home or is it an MCOD install.

If this is an MCOD install then.......

During an MCOD or Add-In installation with Oracle Multiple Homes you get the following error: CJS-00030 Assertion failed: OraSqlContext constructor:

arguments dbSidOrSrcObject and dbHome are not valid.

To solve the problem, change the following lines in the control.xml file :

Old: (tORA_DbHome.name WHERE 1 = 1),

target (tGlobalDbParameters.dbHomeName ...

New: (tORA_DbHome.path WHERE 1 = 1),

target (tGlobalDbParameters.dbHome ...

Note that these lines appear twice in control.xml.

if its not an mcod, maybe u can give me some more information. I might be able to help.

Regards

Ravi

Cemil,

This seems to be an oracle issue..with being unable to start the tns listener..for oracle..

The Network Adapter could not establish the connection.

The oracle listener is not running correct on the database host

Check it with the command lsnrctl status as user orasid

Please start the oracle listener as orasid user:

steps to check if listener is Ok.

lsnrctl start

or stop the listener and restart it with

lsnrctl stop

lsnrctl start

Hi Cemil,

I have installed NW2004s SR2. I have installed solu manager on one server and PI on another server. solu manag server is central sld and PI as local sld.

can i have solu manger landscape as central SLD and PI box as local SLD or do i need to do viceversa.

How to perform the post installation ? shld i need to perform NWA option first or PI option first in the template post installation procedure

plz guide me in this issue and help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,

If you have configured a SLD at Solution Manager installation time, you can use this SLD as a Central SLD for PI/XI. that time you must supply Sol.Man. IP address and HTTP port for using in NW2004s PI installation.

If you want to use Central SLD option on installation you already must have one SLD server.

Hi Cemil,

Thanks and the info is really useful. we have selected solu manag sld as central and PI as local. Which SLD i need to configure first and in which sld i can run the template NWA and PI ?

Srinivas,

if NW PI has its own local SLD that time you must configure that SLD for using with XI.

You don't have to us Sol.Man. SLD.

Hi Cemil,

I really appreciate for your quick responses. The template based post installation has NWA and PI.

which option i need to select for the local PI post installation NWA or PI ?

Thanks,

I reinstalled oracle and problem automatically solved.

I think I had forgotten anything on Oracle previous installation phase.

Hi Cemil,

check that you have the Oracle related environment variables set correctly.

Try referring to the relevant SAP note

Unix

<b>#830578 Oracle database 10g: Unix environment variable</b>

Windows

<b>#94801 Environment variables/Registry (Windows NT)</b>

If the above does not help then - as this is not really a PI/XI issue - you may get more help if you create a thread in either the Oracle or WEB AS Installation forums
