Job Monitoring: Use of pattern instead of the actual name

Hi Experts,

We are on Solman 7.1 SP10(soon moving to SP12). We have configured Technical Montorimng -> Job Monitoring. It works as expected if you give the correct job name.

But if we try and use a pattern the same doesnt work. No alerts are generated.

Can a pattern be used in the config instead of the exact name ? The configuration did not complain about the same.

The way I added the job was to search for the job name with a pattern.

A list of jobs were then displayed.

Selected all and the clicked on the button "Add filter criteria as monitored Object" .

Can you please tell me if this is correct and should return results or this configuration would not work.

Regards,

Ash

I know from some qrfc monitoring via MAI, while you can't use a xyz* you can change the equal to sign to a greater than sign ( > ) for xyz and then the metric matches and will kick off alerts.

Not sure if you can do the same function with the job mon, but might be worth a look.

Hi Billy/All,

The issue has been fixed now. Solution was to upgrade to ST-PI SP10 on the managed system and apply note 2022442.

Ash
