Material Group in Sales Organisation View 2

Hai Everybody,

What is the use of material Group 1,2,3,4 & 5 in Sales Organisation View 2 of Material Master?

Please give your answer with example.

Hi,

Material group is solely used for the purpose of further defining a material. Now there are 5 types pf group which means sap gives you five ways of defining the sub groups.

For eg: If you are creating a Coca Cola as a product, then in material groups you can define further as:

MAterial grp 1: <b>CBN</b>- Cola

MAterial grp 2:<b>101</b>-Diet Cola

MAterial grp 3:<b>015</b>- i Litre Pet bottle

MAterial grp 4:020- Returnable( whether the bottle comes back for refilling or not, here it wont)

MAterial grp 5:01- With Coke genral sticker

Hello,

These fields are not used in the standard SAP R/3 System as they can be used when required say in analysis. Note that these material groups have nothing to do with the material group used in pricing. These fields can be are used as extra attributes of the material while creating any analysis related to the materials.

<b>Example:</b>

Material group1 is defined as 75ml, 5ml and 28ml. Now in case we want an Report analysis where one wants to find out how many 75ml bottles were sold in a specific sales area whatever be the product, we can use material group field to get the desired result.
