Hi V Srinivasan,

Thanks for the links.

What I understood for here  is.

1. I need to download SP12 from marketplace under installation section like we do Installation export, kernel DVD etc.

2. This SP12 download has required Stack file for Abap+JAVA

3. Then we need to start installation as

    ./sapinst SAPINST_STACK_XML=/sapcd/SP12_51048401/DATA/SPS12_stack.xml

4. At end, solution manager will be installed with SP12 directly, No need for SUM.

Is my understanding correct?

Regards,

Vinay

Hi Arun,

with SUM is not direct upgrade to SP12.

I am researching option for direct upgrade to SP12 during installation itself.

Thanks to V Srinivasan who has given me some hope.

Hi vinay,

The best option is to register your solman in smsy.Generate the stack for SP12 and do the upgrade using SUM tool.Through SAPINST we could not able to apply stack

Hi Vinay,

You definitely want to be doing a MOPZ to create the stack file, download the files and apply with SUM.

Hi Vinay,

You can do it using SPAM.

Create a MOPZ file first and download all necessary files. Now, update SPAM to the latest level and then proceed with ABAP stack update and then Java stack.

Or else, you can proceed using SUM where ABAP and Java can happen together with minimal downtime.

Nirmal.

Hi Vinay,

Do you have existing system Solution Manager 7.1SP04?

If you have Solution Manager 7.1 SP04, confogure MOPZ and download the stack.xml file to start update using SUM Tool.

If you do not have Solution Manager system 7.1SP04, directly we can install Solution Manager with Latest Support Pack level.

Reply your requirement in detailed.......

Hi V Srinivasan,

Is there a option to install solution manager to latest SP 12?

I think through installation we can go for SP04 and then upgrade to SP12? To get SP12 directly during Installatiom, we need installation export which contains SP12 . isn't it?

Vinay
