Hi, Were you able to get a solution for this issue? I am facing the same problem in UDT while creating a new connection.

Hi

For me, it was a strange behaviour that if I have kept the description of connection blank, it was crashing.

Try entering some description to every connection you make, it might work.

Looks like SAP has made it mandatory in its uniquely strange way!

Hello Stefan,

Check the host file for the IP/HOST name of the BO server. If it is not there then make an entry and recycle the BO.

If any qurries please let me know.

Thanks

Hi

Anyone able to find what is causing this?

I am on BI 4.2 and whenever I open UDT and create a new connection, the application closes off. This is on my client machine as the server installation doesn't have the UDT.

Any suggestions.

Hi Devesh,

This could be some connection corruption issue in the CMS repository.

You need to find out what changed and since then you are facing issues.

If you have multiple environments, you can try migrating relational connections one by one or in groups to other environment and find out if the other environment is also facing same issue after migration.

Note: Be very cautious while migrating the connections as this will break your existing universe and connection association in existing. (Better to make a copy of the connection from CMC)

Once you find out the connection, you will have to delete it from CMC.

Mithilesh

You don't see Database middleware selection at all?

Are you running IDT on server or on your client PC?
