Upload open sales order

Team,

I searched my query but couldn't find the answer so posting now.

I need to upload open sales order but need to link them with open production orders and partially shipped order during cutover. I need the way to link the open sales order with production orders.

Any suggestions..

Are those Production Orders in SAP or in legacy system?  What exactly you want to link?  Production Order reference or quantity produced against that Production Order?  If the scenario is MTO, then automatically, system would take care of your requirement in such a way that all Production Orders should be having Sale Order reference.  On the other hand, if the scenario is Make To Stock and you need to just refer the Production Order number, may be you can make use of "PO Number" (VBKD-BSTKD) in sale order

Thanks Lakshmipathi,

I discussed the same with the PP person here and based on MRP that will run as a batch job in the night, planned orders will be created automatically and through that Production orders will be created using LSMW or BDC.
