Hi experts,

I have the following issue:

When I try to connect to the SAP System my MS Project shows "Logon in process - please wait..."

but nothing happens even after waiting a longer time.

Im running MS Project 2007 Standard and have installed OpenPS 4.0 PL 4

The error_log gives me this information:

Error Number       = 91

Error Description  = Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Error stack Trace  =    at OPenPS_BackEnd_Adapter.OPEN_PS_BACKEND_ADAPTER.GetInstance(Connection& destination, Boolean UseBWRFC)

Error Help File    =

Has anyone an idea how i can fix this?

Thanks

Pascal

Hello Pascal

This seems like configuration  issue, for the full installation of SAP Gui to  be done you
You will need to have the OCX files wdtlog.ocx, wdtfuncs.ocx and also librfc32.dll in you machine.

During the SAP Installation the necessary settings for external connections should be enabled.
So please re-install your SAP Gui with these settings and check if this

User the role SAP_PS_EPS must be assigned.
For this role the permission S_RFC with the action "Execute" for RFC object category "function group" and RFC entity "*" must be maintained.

As a work around,

When you define the SAP user in MS projects (popup SAP User) the
was password  optional, so you leave this blank.
When you then log on via the R/3 PS Logon popup you should get the "Logon failed message"
however you define the password in the SAP user popup.
you should then be able to logon via the R/3 PS Logon popup.

Hello Gerry and Varshal,

thanks for your reply.

After the new installation of SAP GUI it works fine.

Thanks,

Pascal

Hi,

Here are few suggestions:

  • Please reinstall the GUI.
  • Please speak with BASIS team for any firewall on your machine
  • Raise an Incident on SAP using the process below:
    • In OpenPS setttings; set the check mark on "Trace off" this will enable the tracing.
    • Repeat the steps to connect to SAP
    • Search for the log files with the names "Detail_Trace.log" and "Errors_log.log". (Search in the OPENPS installation Folder.
    • Attach the files in the incident.

Hope it Helps!

Thanks and Regards,
