CONNECTION REFUSED WHILE SHUTTING DOWN SYSTEM

Hello,

While shutting down the system got the error below:

FAIL: NIECONN_REFUSED (Connection refused), NiRawConnect failed in plugin_fopen()

tried stopsap all;

Also tried killing sapstartsrv but could not find it as per note 1348820 when checked with ps -ef , tried script also.

Did any one faced this error before.

please help!

Hello Udaya,

The cause of the issue is not all process of sapstartsrv is running. We need to manually start them or kill them.

Don't see a reference on what environment you are facing this. But before shutting the system down, try starting it using startsap and then try shutting it down, This should start all the necessary sapstartsrv processes. So when you are bringing the system down, It would not show you a error on connection refused. Hope this helps.

Hi Udaya,

I am struggling to understand what exactly your problem is and what help do you need?

Did you check SAP Marketplace where you can find the relevant OSS notes to your situation?

We do not know yet whether you are trying to stop SAP and it is not stopping or you are trying to start it !! If SAP is not up, you might not be able to find the process SAPSTARTSRV.

If possible, restart SAP completely, clear the shared memory, if possible also restart the database and operating system.

Please search SAP Notes with your error and go through the most relevant one with your system and situation and let us know how we can help you.

in which trace you have found the "connection refused" message? "Connection refused" means that nothing is listen to affected port on the affected host, it just mean that either a program is not running or connection data is wrong.
