Aggregate Planning Book View across Locations

Hello experts,

We have a requirement to create a SNP planning book view which can provide an aggregate view of critical Key figures for assessing the overall inventory health of a material across supply chain locations. The aggregate view should include Forecast, Inventory, Sales Orders, In transit, On hand Inventory, Total Inventory, Days of Supply.

Some other key assumptions:

  1. The selection should only be by Material and provide the aggregate view for all locations.  Drill down to other locations is not necessary in this view.
  2. The ability to make changes to production within this screen is required
  3. In-transits should be considered as part of the on hand.
    1. We should have a key figure for in transit
    2. Another one for “on hand inventory”
    3. And a total inventory
    4. Days of supply should be based on the total inventory

Can you suggest how to implement a planning book setup like this which can give global visibility of critical key figures? We also have some challenges regarding the calculation of Global days of supply, global demand, global stock on hand, etc. It will be helpful if you guide on these challenges as well.

Any help is highly appreciated. Thank you.

Best Regards,

Marius

I forgot to close this one. I do know about basic settings for a Planning book / data view but the initial understanding of the requirement was a little different and now the requirement is dropped. Though, thanks for the inputs anyways.

Hi Parth,

The planning book is tied to planning area and planning area (PA) is tied to planning object structure (POS).
In the POS you must have all characteristics that you would like to have as selection criteria in the planning book. You can use the SAP standard characteristics.

Example of chars: 9ALOCNO, 9AMATNR, etc..

In the PA you create key figures to display the transactional data in the planning book. You can choose standard SAP key figures. PA have to be active and time series must be generated.

Example of key figures: stock in transit, stock on hand, etc..

If the standard characteristics & key figures don't covers your needs than you have to create them in the BW of APO system.

Create time bucket for past and future periods (T.Code /SAPAPO/TR30).

Then you can create planning book. You create the planning book based on your created PA, characteristics and key figures.

As Mariano specified the aggregation/disaggregation is not a problem.

Hope that help!

Hello,

You can create your planning book in: /SAPAPO/SDP8B.

Here you have to assign the keyfigures to the planning book and create the dataviews with the corresponing keyfigures (Forecast, Inventory, Sales Orders, In transit, On hand Inventory, Total Inventory, etc..).

You also have to assign the characteristics. So agreggation and disaggregation is not a problem..

For the Days of Supply you could create a macro and make your onw calculation.

Start with this..

Kind Regards,

Mariano
