HANA M_CS_ALL_COLUMNS - MAIN_MEMORY_SIZE_IN_MISC?

Hello everyone.

I am Mr.Kim.

I am wondering, is there anyone know about MAIN_MEMORY_SIZE_IN_MISC in M_CS_ALL_COLUMNS table in HANA?

I understand MAIN_MEMORY_SIZE_IN_DATA, MAIN_MEMORY_SIZE_IN_DICT.

Our client wants every detail about the column store sizing.

Pleas help me.

Well, your client won't get "every detail" as this is SAP's IP.

If your client wants to understand how the column store works in principle and what the major contributors to the memory usage are, there is documentation, there are the openHPI lectures and there's even books 😉 that explain those.

In case your client actually observes that the MISC part of a non-empty column store table is drastically larger than the DATA and DICT parts combined, please have your client open a support incident for investigation by development.
