Use of Process Chains in APO

Hai,?

Can we use process chains(Transaction RSPC) to schedule jobs in APO? From which version are the process chains started in APO? I think they were not in 3x. Were they started from 4.0? Which processes can be used in process chains?

Thank you.

Hello,

Just to add some information.

Process chains are available in APO 4.0. However, the process types for APO (e.g. process types for mass processing, initialization of planning area) are not yet there in 4.0. The BW process types are there.

Hi,

Process chain can be used to schedule all APO jobs.

You can use RSPC for Loading DP master data,Realignment,Create Time series,Calculate Statistical forecast,Release DP to SNP

In SNP you can include all planning run,SNP Heuristics,DRP,Consistency check etc..

PPDS you can include all PPDS Runs,Creat alerts etc,,

PCs included from version SCM 4.0

Hope it helps...

Cheers!

I think it was because of the version of BW that was integrated into the Mini APO-BW

I dont think it was in the version before APO 4.0 either

check the release notes for SCM4 at help.sap.com and you can see if it is mentioned there as something new

am not sure of these numebrs but this will give an idea

APO 3.x had BW 2.X which did not have process chains

APO 4.x had BW 3.x

APO 5.x has BW 7
