Hi Experts,
Brief information about our PRD system:
- SAP: SAP ECC 6.0 EHP5
- DB: MS SQL 2008 R2
- OS: Windows Server 2008 R2.Standard (64 bits)
We've received a recent request to sync all roles in 1 of QAS clients with PRD roles due to roles inconsistency issue, for instance: QAS client 444.
FYI, we've multiple QAS clients.
Our PRD client has the latest and updated roles. Some PRD roles are not found in QAS 444. This is happened during the initial project implementation which was not properly managed.
What is the best client copy profile to use without impacting existing data/config in QAS 444?
I've read some articles or forums recommending to use profile either SAP_USER or SAP_PROF.
What's your opinion?
Thanks.
- Peter
Hello Peter.
If you need just Roles and Profiles, use SAP_PROF.
If you need Users, roles and profiles, use SAP_USER.

Hi Peter,
Me too not sure about client copy for roles only
SAP_USER - Users, user roles and authorization profiles are copied. The client is not reset.
SAP_PROF - Only authorization profile and roles
If using SAP_PROF profile, client copy using this profile in most cases deleting data and customization and except SAP_USER
or other solution as per sriram told mass download option

Hi Peter,
Get the AGR* tables from source system and export them to target using R3trans or transports.
That's it..!!

Hi Peter
I am not sure about roles alone you can perform the client copy. for this you can download the all 444 roles from Production and upload the same in QAS by using the transaction code PFCG -> Utilities - >Mass download ->option
For Upload in QAS - transaction code PFCG-> Role-> upload

Sriram
