Massive change for document types

Hello experts,

We have two different document types that we want to unify. Is it possible to change document type value for a document that has been created with other document type? Which option do we have to make this change??

Hi Laura

In standard SAP we can not change the document type. Better way to delete the unwanted DIR's & create a new DIR with required DMS document type.

Document type is the heart of DIR once it created we cannot change.

Let it be like that what is the issue.

Hi Rajesh,

We have two diffenrent document types ZXX and ZYY. Although when we created them we thought that we will need to separate them, we have noticed that both of them have the same information (same status, same characteristics, same links...)and we want to have just one document type for them.

We have already created 1000 ZXX document and 1500 ZYY documents. We want to change ZXX and convert them in ZYY to have 2500 ZYY documents.

Is it clear enought????
