HANA on SLES 11 SP3 for SAP software selection

Hi,

We are planning to install SAP HANA SPS8 on a Virtual Machine for Test Purpose with SLES 11 SP3.

And we will install NW ABAP 7.4 and HANA on the same virtual Machine.

During the Installation of SLSE 11 SP3 we found the following options on the Software Selection screen.

- SAP Netweaver Server Base

- SAP HANA Server Base

We would like to know if we have to select these options in this scenario on VM Machine.

I have seen other posts where the option for "SAP Application Server Base" was only selected.

Have anyone used these options.

Hi Ahmed Mohammed,

Because you are installing an ABAP Application Server and SAP HANA database on the same host you need to select the "SAP HANA Server Base" and the "SAP Application Server Base".

Also make sure you read SAP Note 1953429 - SAP HANA and SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP on one Server and use the most recent SWPM tool.
