Virus Notification Setup Afraria SP HF5

Former Member

Dear all,

I'm trying to update oure Afraia Version from Afaria 7 SP5 to Fixpack 5 and getting Virus Notification during the start.

I've attached a screenshot.

Is there anything know about a problem?

Doesn't think so, but installation would be maybe corrupt or impossible due to blocked files.

Checked Files at Virustotal.com and anything was fine.

Also the setup.exe ist not correctly signed by SAP.

Older files like 7.04.12 were correctly signed by Sybase.

Best regards,

Markus

Hi, Markus.

I haven't heard anything about this yet but typically AV products are expected to be disabled during installation due to the potential for a false-positive like this creating problems for the installation.  So it's possible I haven't heard about it simply because most AVs aren't checking those files when disabled.

That said, I just grabbed a copy of the file and checked the details.  Here is a screen capture of the official file:

Make sure yours matches up to this one.

Hi Keith,

I don't have this specific file.

It's buried in the DFI File and i can't extract it.

But I've uploaded it to Symantec, the checked it and says it's ok and they are going to updaten their pattern files.

So there is no problem.

Best regards,

Markus

Hey, Markus.

Glad to hear.  For future reference, you can retrieve the files by initiating the setup and then before actually clicking the Install button you can open %TEMP%\XAFAR000.DIR and find the files located there.
