Confirmed delivery date with Global ATP

Dear Gurus,

We are investigating the possibility to use Global ATP. An important requirement for us is that ATP can meet a specific
scenario which, from research, we cannot conclude whether Global ATP support this scenario:

Material 1 and other materials are entered for delivery from Plant A. We want it (complete) delivered from Plant A.
Material 1 is usually delivered from and at stock in Plant B.

In Plant A no ATP exists for material 1 and a stock transport order has to be/is created from Plant B.

The question is:

 

Does the confirmed delivery date to the customer for Plant A account for the ATP-situation in Plant B if there is
unexpectedly no stock at Plant B?

Or does the confirmed delivery date only accounts for the time getting the goods delivered from Plant B to Plant A.

The issue has been solved. We 've had a workshop with SAP and they confirmed that Global ATP foresees in the example I mentioned by taking into account the ATP-situation in the source plant.

Hi De boer,

you are saying you want to deliver the material from Plant A, but there are some stocks ( material 1 ) available in Plant B and probably only in Plant B, in this case a STO needs to be triggered from Plant B to Plant A to deliver the customer order from plant A?

I think here you want to use location consolidation logic, where in the location determination you would mention to look at plant A first and then plant B for material 1, if the stock is not available in plant A the system would look at plant B and if the stock is there, the system would create a Preq from Plant B to plant A, you should maintain the planned delivery time from Plant B to plant A - then GATP will take this delivery date to plant A and propose a confirmed delivery date accordingly.

you shoulsd maintain the right lead times in ECC/

Hi Rorie,

thanks for your answer. I think you're right that location consolidation could be of help to us.

But what we don't know is following:

Plant B      unexpectedly no stock, replenishment at 29th October. Transittime to Plant A is 1 day.

Current date is 22.10. Transittime to customer is 1 day.

Previous example applies.

Doe the confirmed delivery date in Plant A will be set on

22.10 + 1 day transittime form Plant B to A + 1 day transittime to customer = 24.10

or

29.10 +  1 day transittime form Plant B to A + 1 day transittime to customer = 31.10

Hi De Boer,

if i remember correctly, in consolidation, the system wont create a STR from plant B to Plant A, here you will have tomodify the  program to create STR incase of stock availability or non availability while doing ATP check in case of consolidation logic.

while doing ATP Check , the system would propose 31.10 as the confirmed delivery date.

or instead of modifying the program an other easy way is to set up a ZTable , maintain lead time from Plant B to plant A - here in plant B you should maintain a replenishment lead time and call this ZTable while doing ATP Check - this way system would consider the lead time from plant B to A, confirmed delivery date would be 31.10.
