Upgrading from SAP EWM 7.02 to 9.1

Dear Colleagues,

I've not worked in 9.1 and we are thinking of upgrading at some point next year ; we are currently on SAP EWM 7.02 SP13.

If you have done such upgrade,I'd be really interested to see how you approached the subject,the pros and cons,what to look out,etc,etc...

Hello ADP,

we did an upgrade from 7.x to 9.1 in a non-productive environment.

9.1 has different requirements at NetWeaver platform and other components.

So be aware that things outside EWM (like SAP_BASIS, OS, DB) may behave different after upgrade also ...

A good idea for technical input is to look at the PAM https://service.sap.com/sap/support/pam

to see what you need to change around EWM itself for update.

Also notes like http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1892669 may give you input for your decision.

As I'm also a basis consultant, the upgrade with SUM itself is more a techical challenge (get solman and LMDB data up to date, calc MOPz stacks, ...)

As always:

+ pro: new features, better then ever , long term support

- con: new unknown errors, behaviour changes for productive processes, testing

We have had some SAP BASIS DB,OD issues but the predominant majority of them have now been ironed out.
