IP address caching for SAP PI

Former Member

Hi Experts,

could you please help me with my question:

We have a scenario on our PI 7.11 SP12 system with one of our external partners. This partner is moving their DataCentrum to a new provider, and they will have a new IP address behind their old DNS address, which we use in SOAP communication channel.

Do you know if the system is caching IP addresses and how to request a refresh?

Best regards,

Milan

Hi Milan,

Ask your basis team to check by pinging to the new ip address and also ask them to add the new ip in your PI system DNS name.

Then you would be able to connect to the new ip address.

Thanks,

Naveen

Hi Milan

SXI_CACHE should do as per the below blog or else you can go for JVM restart.

Also check these.

Hi Osman,

thanks for response... I'm not sure if sxi_cache could do that, but OK. More interesting looks the third link DNS caching in JVM, basicly it's the SAP Java AS where our Adapter engine runs...

Now for 7.11, there already is networkaddress.cache.ttl property compare to that blog.

Best regards,

Milan
