Hi Experts,

sap system was Restarted. i want to know why it was Restarted.

where can we get the information.

how  many ways we can check it.

for abap and java

Hi

1. First you can check at OS level. Is this any error message in the OS system events

2. Second you can check in SAP system at SM21 log

Hello Dhrish,

on a Linux server the OS log is in /var/log/messages, you can access it also in ST06N(OS07N) under "Additional functions --> Operating system log":


As Sriram already wrote you should start your analysis with the both logs, operating system log and syslog in SM21. In SM21 you should look for the first error at around the time, when the system was restarted, in SM21 you should see, which process has created the entry in syslog and checkt its trace.
