Hello
We are about to upgrade GRC 10.0 from support pack 10 to 16. Does anyone have any guidance on what we should make sure to validate in Access Control and Process Control after the upgrades occur? We figured RAR, EAM, BRM and ARM on the AC side. On the PC side we figured we would go through the process of creating a data source, business rule, control, etc.
If anyone can point us to an SAP note, documentation or just has general guidance on what we should validate after SP upgrade we would really appreciate it.
Hi Stacey,
Support pack upgradation will not alter your configurations; be it specific to AC or PC.
It will in fact bring up the corrections for the bugs which you would already have faced or about to face.
Along with the bug-fixes, you might get to see certain enhancements but no alter in the configurations which you have already done.
But to validate if everything is in place post upgrade, I would do some testing via ARQ's.
How does it work from raising till provisioning et al. You can test for the functionalities involved with ARM. EAM, ARA and BRM but there would not be any changes for sure.
So, you should go ahead with SP upgrade.
Let us know if you face any issues.

Thanks for the feedback. Your recommended approach is similar to what we would take.
Do you know if the upgrade would have any impact to master data in NWBC? On the AC side, roles that have been imported previously or the methodology status for those roles. On the PC side, any data sources/business rules or organizations built. We are mostly concerned with master data impacts.
H Stacey,
There would not be any impact on master data on NWBC. Everything will be in place as it was before upgrade.
Like I said, support pack upgrade brings up the corrections for the issues and so will not change any of the configuration parameters. So no need to worry about role methodology..role status or for anyother configurations.
Support pack upgrade will not be having impacts on AC & PC..
Hope this is clear now.
