How can i change my default Sybase ASE Port number

Hi Experts,

I'm having trouble with sybase ASE default port number Please help me out Experts .

Hi Anoop,

Yes, sure we can change the port number.

You could add a new listener to the ASE (your ASE would then be listening on the old *and* new ports) but this change won't be permanent.

To make the port change permanent:

1 - Edit your interfaces file (on unix) or sql.ini file (on windows); change the port number from 5000 to whatever you want (making sure the new port number isn't in use by any other processes is a good idea)

2 - Shutdown your ASE

3 - Start up your ASE

try these steps.....
